Hyderabad, Oct 24: The team behind the much-anticipated action film 'Fauzi', directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and starring the renowned Prabhas, has released an intriguing teaser to celebrate the actor's birthday. The film is now set to premiere globally on March 19, 2027, a shift from its original release date of December 3, 2026.

In a heartfelt message on social media, director Hanu Raghavapudi expressed his excitement, stating, "A little late, but the REBEL fever never fades - #HappyRebelsDay. Proudly presenting INDIA’S BIGGEST REBEL SOLDIER - OUR #Fauzi. In Cinemas March 19th 2027. #Prabhas25 #HappyBirthdayPrabhas."

The teaser reveals Prabhas's character, showcasing a dramatic encounter between Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Adolf Hitler during World War II. In this pivotal scene, Bose seeks assistance from Germany to combat Britain, only to be met with Hitler's dismissive remarks about India's struggle for freedom. Bose firmly counters, asserting his determination to liberate India, regardless of external support.

To illustrate his point, Bose highlights Fauzi, portrayed by Prabhas, an Indian spy credited with aiding Japan in seizing Singapore from British control. He describes Fauzi as a soldier, strategist, and spy, emphasizing that while Britain is aware of German espionage, they remain oblivious to Fauzi's capabilities.

Bose further reveals that Fauzi developed an unbreakable code inspired by the Bhagavad Gita, which even the British acknowledged as more complex than the German 'Enigma'. When Hitler inquires about Fauzi's true identity, Bose cryptically states that his birth name is unknown, and the British refer to him simply as Fauzi.

Since its announcement last year, 'Fauzi' has generated significant buzz among fans and cinema enthusiasts. Earlier this year, director Raghavapudi made an emotional plea to the public, urging them not to share leaked images from the film, emphasizing the effort that has gone into creating a unique cinematic experience.

He stated, "We’ve poured our hearts into #Fauzi to give you something truly special. Humbly requesting everyone, please don’t spoil the magic with leaks. Let’s experience it the way it’s meant to be… together in theatres." The production team also issued warnings against those sharing unauthorized content, stressing the importance of preserving the film's intended experience.

Director Raghavapudi explained the use of Sanskrit Shlokas in the film's title announcement, stating, “We intentionally used Sanskrit Shlokas because they add gravity and meaning to our warrior tale. However, this is not a mythological film. We've only drawn philosophical inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita. 'Fauzi' is a powerful patriotic drama that explores human emotions and socio-political tensions during the British era, many of which still resonate globally today.”

Known for his visually stunning storytelling in films like 'Sita Ramam', Raghavapudi aims to create a grand cinematic experience with 'Fauzi', focusing on the protagonist's bravery and internal struggles. This film marks Prabhas's return to a large-scale period drama following 'Baahubali', promising an emotional and visually captivating experience. It is expected to be released in multiple languages.

Set in the 1940s, 'Fauzi', previously referred to as #PrabhasHanu, will feature actress Imanvi as the female lead alongside Prabhas. The cast also includes veteran actors Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhanu Chander, and Jayapradha in significant roles.

The film's music is composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, a favorite collaborator of Raghavapudi, who previously worked on the successful 'Sita Ramam'. Cinematography is handled by Sudeep Chatterjee, with lyrics penned by Krishna Kanth. Costume design is by Sheetal Sharma, contributing to the high expectations surrounding this historical film.
