Ongoing Controversy Surrounds Don 3 Casting Drama
The Don 3 Dispute Continues
The controversy regarding Don 3 shows no signs of resolution. What began as a significant casting announcement has escalated into one of the most notable disputes within Bollywood recently. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has placed a ban on Ranveer Singh following his alleged departure from the Farhan Akhtar-directed film. Now, another organization has voiced its dissatisfaction over being excluded from the discussions—CINTAA, led by the esteemed actress Poonam Dhillon.
Understanding CINTAA
What Is CINTAA?
The Cine and TV Artistes' Association, widely recognized as CINTAA, plays a crucial role in Bollywood. It serves as a representative body and support network for artists in film and television. CINTAA intervenes when actors encounter professional challenges, conflicts, or unfair treatment, acting as a mediator between performers and producers to facilitate equitable resolutions. Poonam Dhillon, a veteran actress and politician, currently presides over CINTAA.
Poonam Dhillon's Perspective on the Issue

Poonam Dhillon has expressed that CINTAA feels overlooked in this situation. In an interview with Variety India, she mentioned that the association would have preferred to be contacted by either Ranveer Singh or the producers when complications arose. She conveyed her frustration at being left uninformed throughout the ordeal, stating, "It's a very strange situation to be in because it's one of our members, but neither the artist nor the producer or the Federation informed us." Dhillon emphasized that since Ranveer is a member of CINTAA, he could have sought the association's assistance to resolve the matter. She clarified that without complete information, she cannot determine who is at fault.
The Conflict Between Ranveer Singh and FWICE
Ranveer Singh Vs FWICE
The origins of this controversy trace back to 2023, when Farhan Akhtar officially announced that Ranveer Singh would take on the lead role in Don 3, a character previously portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. However, the situation deteriorated when Ranveer opted to exit the project. Farhan subsequently approached FWICE, alleging that Ranveer's abrupt departure resulted in financial losses amounting to nearly Rs 45 crore incurred during pre-production. In response, FWICE intervened and issued a non-cooperation directive, effectively imposing a shadow ban on the actor. Ranveer's representative issued a measured response, stating that the actor respects the film community and has chosen to address the situation with dignity and silence.
