New Developments in Dhurandhar Production Designer's Sexual Harassment Case
Overview of the Case
Recent updates have emerged regarding the sexual harassment allegations against Saini S Johray, the production designer for Dhurandhar. A formal complaint was lodged against him at B62 Studios in late 2025. This studio, co-founded by filmmaker Aditya Dhar and producer Lokesh Dhar, initiated an internal investigation shortly after the complaint was received. Sources indicate that the complaint was filed in October 2025, leading the production house to activate its Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee. A source stated, “Due to the gravity of the allegations and the company's firm policy against workplace harassment, the committee conducted a thorough inquiry.”
The investigation, which lasted approximately six months, concluded around March-April 2026, with the POSH committee determining that Johray was guilty of two charges: sexual molestation and evidence tampering. It is reported that the committee later communicated its findings to the complainant. The results of this investigation seem to have impacted Johray’s role in the Dhurandhar franchise. Although he was credited in the OTT release of Dhurandhar on January 30, 2026, his name was omitted from the ‘Raw and Undekha’ version that debuted on May 22.
Currently, it is uncertain whether Johray was credited in the theatrical release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which premiered in March, as his name does not appear on the film’s IMDb page. This news follows the recent filing of an FIR by Chandigarh Police against Johray after a woman reported a sexual harassment incident at the Sector-17 police station. In her statement, she accused Johray of inviting her to a room at Chandigarh’s Taj Hotel, where he allegedly harassed, physically assaulted, and wrongfully confined her. She also claimed that her drink was tampered with, leading to her deteriorating health.
According to reports, the complainant, who resides in New Delhi, submitted her written complaint at the Chandigarh Sector-17 police station on April 20. Following a preliminary inquiry, the police registered an FIR under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). While the police investigation is ongoing, it has been reported that Johray has secured bail as the legal proceedings continue. In terms of box office performance, Dhurandhar (Part 1) reportedly grossed around Rs 1,365 crore globally during its theatrical run, while its sequel, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, has surpassed approximately Rs 1,800 crore worldwide, contributing to a combined total of over Rs 3,165 crore.
