She candidly admitted, "I lacked support from my then-husband, which led to numerous mistakes on my part. I was quite young and unsure of how to handle the situation, and my child had to witness that. It wasn't an easy journey for him, but thankfully, his great grandparents were there to provide guidance and love. Until he turned nine, he lived with them, which was a blessing for us both."

Neelima also shared her decision to pursue a more stable career path, which led her to become a full-time actress. She recounted, "When I arrived in Mumbai in 1990, I had just 4,500 rupees to my name, all earned through my own efforts. I didn’t rely on my parents for financial support. It was a daunting experience to move from Delhi to Bombay with such limited resources. I never borrowed money from anyone; I managed on my own."

She expressed gratitude for the role of fate in her life, feeling incredibly lucky. After relocating to Mumbai, she embarked on a new journey and quickly became one of the most beloved stars on television, gaining recognition both nationally and internationally.
