The iconic playback singer, who was 92 years old, passed away after being hospitalized at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to severe exhaustion and a critical chest infection. Asha Bhosle's Funeral Arrangements
Asha Bhosle, who was honored with the Padma Vibhushan, is celebrated as one of the most versatile and revered singers in the history of Indian music. Her career, which spanned several decades, saw her lend her voice to thousands of songs across various genres, creating an unmatched legacy.
Following her passing, her remains were taken to her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Family, close friends, and industry colleagues gathered to pay their respects as preparations for her final rites commenced. Her son, Anand Bhosle, announced that the public could pay their last respects from 11 am to 3 pm before the funeral. The final rites are set to occur at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park crematorium at 4 pm. Notably, her elder sister, the legendary Lata Mangeshkar, was also cremated at this location. Maharashtra State Cabinet Minister Ashish Shelar confirmed that Asha Bhosle will receive full state honors, including a national flag-draped casket and ceremonial gun salutes.
