Narayani Shastri's Revelations on Drug Use in Entertainment
Television star Narayani Shastri has made shocking allegations regarding the widespread use of drugs in the entertainment sector. In a recent discussion, she claimed that substances like cocaine and MDMA have become a regular feature at television parties, even suggesting that some productions have been delayed due to actors being unfit for shooting. Narayani recounted her personal observations of drug use at industry events and acknowledged her own past experimentation with drugs, although she emphasized that she never fell into addiction.
Narayani Shastri Discusses Drug Culture at TV Gatherings
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube platform, Narayani Shastri expressed her concerns about the evolving culture at entertainment parties. She noted that while budgets were once allocated for alcohol, they now often include funds for illegal drugs. "I was taken aback to see this shift," she remarked, highlighting her decision to gradually withdraw from such gatherings, which she feels have transformed from social occasions into something more troubling. Although she does not personally know those using drugs, she has witnessed it firsthand, stating, "I have seen people doing stuff."
When asked about the specific substances she observed, Narayani mentioned cocaine and MDMA. She noted that at smaller gatherings, attendees are usually aware of who is using drugs, while larger parties tend to keep such activities more concealed.
Impact of Drug Use on Television Productions
Narayani Shastri also pointed out that drug use sometimes transcends parties and affects professional responsibilities. She recounted instances where actors arrived on set in such a state that they were unable to perform. She described waiting for nearly four hours for a shoot to commence because one actor was allegedly 'not in a condition to even stand up.' In such scenarios, producers often find themselves with few alternatives, as replacing a lead actor mid-production can disrupt the entire project and its continuity.
During the interview, Narayani candidly shared her own experiences, admitting to having tried illegal drugs out of curiosity but clarifying that it was never a recurring habit. She stated that she only experimented with various substances once to grasp their effects and never developed an addiction.
