How Was the Climax Scene of 'Krantiveer' Shot?
During an interview with a media outlet, Nana Patekar explained, 'The final scene of 'Krantiveer' was not written.' When asked about the specific line, 'Here comes the spectacle of my death,' he elaborated, 'Yes, that one. I was in the hospital, and the next day was the shoot. I thought, if I die today, the producers will die the next day. So, I decided to go for the shoot.'
He further recounted, 'The producers suggested I rest first, but I insisted on shooting. There were three or four doctors with me. When we arrived, I put on the costume and asked for the scene. They said they would write it down. I asked, what does that mean? The director explained that they would provide the dialogues.'
Nana continued, 'After that, I said let's take a lunch break, and we will start shooting at 2:30 PM. During lunch, I planned what I would say and do. We began shooting at 2:30 PM and wrapped up by 5 PM. I kept speaking, and when I felt I had nothing left to say, I covered my face with a cloth from the executioner.' This scene is still regarded as iconic, showcasing Nana's creativity.
