A Son's Gratitude

Actor Naman Shaw has publicly acknowledged the immense support he receives from his mother, Mrs. Shashi Shaw, whom he regards as his greatest ally and source of strength. In a touching message, he stated, "My mom has always been my biggest support. We're not an overly expressive family, but we have our own ways of showing love and warmth. Her quiet strength has been my constant." He highlighted that her encouragement has played a pivotal role in his career, especially during challenging times, offering him a comforting space to express both his fears and achievements.

Shaw attributes his decision to pursue acting to his mother's encouragement, revealing that it was her support that prompted him to leave Kolkata in pursuit of his dreams. "If it wasn't for her, I'd probably still be in Kolkata at my dad's shop, with just a dream and a sad face," he shared. This year is particularly special for him as his mother is in Mumbai, allowing them to celebrate Mother's Day together.

He expressed, "My mom is with us currently. With her blessings, we already brought a new car. A part of Mother's Day celebration has already begun. I'm lucky; this year she's with me, and I'll be fortunate to take her out for a special Mother's Day dinner." Shaw also mentioned that his son, Krivaan, will join in the celebrations with his mother, Nehaa Mishra.

Looking back on his childhood, Naman reflected that he doesn't have many memories of celebrating Mother's Day, as it wasn't a common practice in middle-class families during his upbringing. However, he is determined to ensure that his son honors his mother each year, saying, "He wishes his mom and makes her feel special every year."

In conclusion, Shaw stressed the significance of staying connected with parents, even amidst life's busyness. "Life does get hectic, especially with shoots for me. But I make it a point to video call my mom once every day just to check in and stay updated on her life," he remarked. He believes that parents are often the first line of support, providing stability and guidance during life's challenges, and emphasizes the importance of regular communication with them.
