Mumbai, March 27: Actress Mona Singh is excited about her forthcoming streaming series titled ‘Maa Ka Sum’. She describes the show as a perfect mix of humor and heartfelt moments, showcasing the emotional depth of her character.
The trailer for the series was released on Friday, directed by Nicholas Kharkongor. It follows the journey of a young math genius who attempts to apply mathematical principles to love, only to realize that feelings often defy logic.
In the trailer, we meet Agastya, portrayed by Mihir Ahuja, a 19-year-old math prodigy who states, “Maths ho ya pyaar… ek hi equation hain,” as he embarks on ‘Project Mom’, aiming to find the ideal partner for his single mother, Vinita, played by Mona Singh. The narrative promises a quirky and fast-paced adventure where logic and emotion collide, leading to unexpected outcomes.
Mona Singh reflects on her role as Vinita, noting, “This character is unlike any I have portrayed before, primarily due to the unique nature of the story. At its core, it explores the bond between a single mother and her son, characterized by a strong friendship, trust, and a fresh perspective on love, which captivated me immediately.”
She added, “I appreciate how Vinita embraces her vulnerability, allowing herself to explore love again and trust her son's unconventional outlook on life. The series beautifully balances humor and emotion, presenting a narrative that feels warm, genuine, and relatable. I believe many viewers will see reflections of their own relationships in it, and I eagerly await the audience's response when ‘Maa Ka Sum’ premieres on Prime Video on April 3.”
Mihir Ahuja, who plays Agastya, shared his thoughts on the character, stating, “What I find most touching about Agastya is that, despite his confidence and intelligence, he is fundamentally a son who loves his mother deeply and wishes for her happiness.
