Mohnish Bahl Remembers Nutan on Her 35th Death Anniversary
A Heartfelt Tribute to Nutan
Mumbai, Feb 21: On the occasion of her 35th death anniversary, actor Mohnish Bahl paid tribute to his mother, the iconic actress Nutan, reflecting on her remarkable legacy.
Mohnish shared a black-and-white photograph of Nutan on Instagram, celebrating her renowned ability to portray complex characters, particularly those of conflicted women in unconventional roles.
His post featured simple yet poignant emojis, including red hearts and a folded hands emoji, expressing his love and respect.
Nutan's illustrious career spanned four decades, during which she appeared in nearly 100 films, starting with her debut at just 14 years old in the 1950 movie Hamari Beti, directed by her mother.
She is celebrated for her performances in classics like Sujata, Bandini, Milan, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Anari, Chhalia, Tere Ghar Ke Saamne, Khandan, Saraswatichandra, Anuraag, and Saudagar, among others.
Her final appearance was in the film Insaniyat in 1994, which was released posthumously. Nutan was married to naval Lieutenant-Commander Rajnish Bahl from 1959 until her passing due to breast cancer in 1991.
As for Mohnish, he made his acting debut in the film Bekarar alongside Padmini Kolhapure and Sanjay Dutt. He later starred in Teri Bahon Mein, a remake of The Blue Lagoon, featuring Ayesha Dutt, Jackie Shroff's wife.
His most notable commercial success in a leading role came with Purana Mandir. Mohnish also featured in landmark films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Hum Saath-Saath Hain, contributing to his extensive filmography of over 100 films.
Continuing the family legacy, Mohnish's daughter, Pranutan Bahl, made her acting debut in 2019 with Notebook and has since appeared in Helmet and Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahani.
