In a recent interview with Aashirvad Cinemas, director Jeethu Joseph expressed his regret over a significant mistake made in Drishyam. He mentioned, "After viewing the film, I recognized that I failed to achieve the necessary balance." He noted that audiences sympathized with Georgekutty and his family, questioning whether Geetha Prabhakar, whose son is missing, could be blamed. Jeethu elaborated that from Geetha's viewpoint, Georgekutty appears to be manipulating the situation, as her son never admitted to any wrongdoing, leaving her in disbelief about the events that transpired. He also shared that the concept for Drishyam stemmed from a conflict between two families.
