Upcoming Season of MobLand

The highly anticipated second season of the Paramount+ series MobLand is scheduled to debut on September 18, 2026, globally. In India, viewers can expect to stream it a day later on JioHotstar, which also offers the first season. Tom Hardy reprises his role as Harry De Souza, a mob fixer entangled with Irish gang leader Conrad Harrigan, portrayed by Pierce Brosnan, and his wife Maeve, played by Helen Mirren. Recent rumors suggested that Hardy had been dismissed from the third season, but it seems that a resolution has been reached between him and the production team regarding a potential renewal for Season 3. A teaser for the upcoming season has been released, showcasing the intense drama to come.

Season 2 Teaser and Plot Insights

The teaser for Season 2 was unveiled with the tagline, "You call it chaos. We call it family." The North London crime family faces internal strife as they teeter on the edge of a civil war following the events of Season 1. With rival factions eager to ignite conflict, it falls to Hardy's character to maintain order amidst the turmoil. The previous season concluded with Conrad and Maeve incarcerated, but they appear to have made a swift return to the outside world.

The teaser also features Conrad and Maeve armed and ready to confront their adversaries, with Brosnan's character declaring, "We are the Harrigans!" as The Prodigy’s Firestarter plays in the background. The cast returning for this season includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Janet McTeer, and Toby Jones. New additions to the cast include Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, and Ophelia Lovibond. Created by Ronan Bennett, the series is overseen by writer and showrunner Jez Butterworth, with Guy Ritchie directing several episodes and serving as an executive producer.

Controversy Surrounding Tom Hardy

In May 2026, reports surfaced indicating that Hardy had exited the series following disagreements with showrunner Butterworth. Allegations included claims that he kept fellow cast members waiting and attempted to interfere with production. However, it was recently disclosed that Hardy and Butterworth have managed to resolve their differences, paving the way for a potential Season 3. A writers' room is already in operation for the next installment, with reports suggesting that Ritchie played a key role in mending their relationship. The first season of MobLand was a significant success for the streaming platform, marking its second-largest launch for an original series after Landman.
