During its third weekend, Michael earned $37.9 million in North America. Although it has dropped to third place in domestic rankings, the competition remains tight with Mortal Kombat II. After 17 days in theaters, Michael has generated a total of $241.9 million domestically, with forecasts suggesting it will soon surpass the $250 million mark.

As reported by Box Office Mojo, the film has brought in $339.1 million internationally, leading to a combined global total of $581.02 million. This positions Michael just $20 million away from the impressive $600 million milestone worldwide. It currently ranks as the second-highest-grossing music biopic in history and is on track to exceed the earnings of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Recent reports indicate that Michael is likely to surpass the global earnings of Project Hail Mary, which has amassed $656.3 million worldwide. This weekend, Project Hail Mary overtook Pegasus 3 to become the second highest-grossing film of the year globally. For Michael to take the second spot, it will need to earn over $75 million more.

With estimates suggesting that Michael could potentially reach around $1 billion in global earnings, while Project Hail Mary is projected to earn about $700 million, the music biopic is strategically positioned in this box office race. If current trends persist, Michael may emerge as the second-highest-grossing film of the year.
