Masters of the Universe Set for Digital Release
Following its theatrical debut on June 5, Masters of the Universe is gearing up for its digital launch on July 22. This live-action adaptation, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, features Nicholas Galitzine in the role of Prince Adam, also known as He-Man. He returns to the realm of Eternia to confront the villainous Skeletor, portrayed by Jared Leto. This marks the second live-action interpretation of the iconic Mattel toy series, with the first film starring Dolph Lundgren released back in 1987.

Amazon Prime Video announced the film's digital release via social media, stating, "Listen Up! Watch Masters of the Universe - July 22 on Prime Video." Directed by Travis Knight, the screenplay is crafted by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and David Callaham. The project has been in the works since 2007.
This new adaptation follows Prince Adam (Galitzine) as he is guided back to Eternia by the Sword of Power after a 15-year absence, during which he lived as an ordinary person on Earth. He joins forces with allies Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba) to reclaim his destiny as He-Man and battle Skeletor. The cast also features Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Charlotte Riley. Kristen Wiig voices Roboto, while original He-Man actor Dolph Lundgren makes a cameo as Macho Man. Additionally, Adam's twin sister, Adora, known as She-Ra (Lauren Saliu), appears in mid-credits scenes, hinting at a potential sequel. With a production budget of $200 million, the film grossed $113 million globally at the summer box office.
Nicholas Galitzine's Transformation for the Role
In preparation for his role, actor Galitzine underwent a significant physical transformation. He shared with Variety at the film's premiere, "It takes so long to put on, [but] it’s so quick to come off.” He expressed relief at finishing his strict diet and is now looking forward to his next indie project.
Previously, Galitzine collaborated with Amazon MGM Studios on Red, White & Royal Blue and is set to reprise his role as British Prince Harry in the upcoming sequel, Red, White & Royal Wedding, which also stars Taylor Zakhar Perez and is anticipated to release later this year.
