Mandana Karimi Reflects on Betrayal and Calls for Support for Iran Amid Conflict
Mandana Karimi's Departure from India Amidst War Concerns
Mandana Karimi, an actress of Indian and Iranian descent and a former contestant on Bigg Boss, has made the decision to leave India due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. In a recent interview, she expressed feelings of betrayal by the country, citing security issues as a significant factor in her choice. Speaking exclusively with Zoom, Mandana reached out to the Indian public for support, highlighting the admiration Iranians have for Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. She emphasized that despite this admiration, the Iranian people do not receive adequate backing.
Mandana Karimi Discusses the Affection Iranians Have for Bollywood
In her conversation with Zoom, Mandana shared, “I feel heartbroken and betrayed by India, as Iranians and Indians share a long-standing bond. Iranians back home have a deep appreciation for Hindi films and actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. One of the first films I watched in Iran was Sholay. The love for Indian cinema is immense among the Iranian people; they are well aware of Bollywood.”
Mandana Karimi Appeals for Stronger Support for Iran
She further stated, “I wish that those Indians who have reached out to me with messages of support for Iran would express their solidarity more publicly. It seems that those who are vocally supporting the regime in India, whether in the media or among the public, overshadow the voices of those who genuinely care. When I need support, I find myself alone, which is truly disheartening. Iranians have a deep affection for Indians, with many having married Indians or living here with their families. This reflects the reality of the strong ties between our cultures.”
