Mallikarjun S Sankanagoudar Opens Up About His Absence

Mallikarjun S Sankanagoudar, who served as the manager for Kannada actor Darshan from 2011 to 2018, has finally shed light on the circumstances that led to his prolonged absence. After being out of the public eye for eight years, he shared his story during a press conference, revealing that a severe financial crisis compelled him to withdraw from his hometown and the limelight.

Insights into Mallikarjun's Disappearance

According to reports from Vijay Karnataka, Mallikarjun disclosed that he had accumulated debts exceeding Rs 8 crore from around 20 to 23 individuals. He expressed that the mounting pressure to repay these loans became unbearable, leading him to feel utterly helpless. The situation escalated to the point where he contemplated taking his own life, but ultimately chose to abandon everything instead.

Initially, even his wife was unaware of the financial troubles he was facing. Upon discovering the truth, the stress took a significant toll on her as well. At one juncture, both felt trapped with no escape. However, a family wedding prompted them to reconsider their situation, serving as a pivotal moment that prevented them from making a drastic decision.

Where Did Mallikarjun Spend Eight Years?

In July 2018, Mallikarjun left Bengaluru without notifying anyone of his plans. Prior to his departure, he sent messages to his creditors, apologizing and explaining his inability to repay them at that time. He then disconnected his phone, disposed of his SIM card, and severed all ties.

For the next seven years, he lived in various cities including Kolhapur, Solapur, Nanded, Nagpur, and Kashi, taking on jobs in tourism, factories, real estate, and hotels to survive. Despite being away, he maintained communication with his family through letters to his wife and parents.

Mallikarjun reflected on the challenging period of his life, stating he would only return once he felt the chapter was closed. He missed significant family events, including the last rites of his father, mother, grandmother, and a close friend, which left him with feelings of guilt and sorrow. Ultimately, he shared what motivated him to reunite with his family after years of hiding, emphasizing that he believed he would return only when he had overcome his struggles.
