A Heartfelt Tribute to Shefali Jariwala

The creators of the legendary 2002 song 'Kaanta Laga' have decided to permanently retire the track as a tribute to the late Shefali Jariwala. This announcement came after directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru attended a prayer meeting for the actress on Wednesday.

The directors took to their Instagram to share a touching message along with a nostalgic image of Shefali from her photoshoot for the song. They expressed their sentiments, stating, 'Yesterday was the prayer meeting. Saying the final goodbyes... with our first photo session together. You always said you wanted to be the one and only 'Kaanta Laga' girl. So we never made a sequel — and we never will. We’re retiring 'Kaanta Laga' forever. It was always yours. It will always be yours… Shefali… RIP…'

Shefali Jariwala sadly passed away on June 27 at the age of 42 due to a cardiac arrest at her home in Mumbai. Reports indicate that she had been fasting and had taken an anti-aging injection on an empty stomach, which caused a sudden drop in her blood pressure, resulting in cardiac arrest. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital.

Her remains were transferred to R N Cooper Hospital in Juhu for a post-mortem examination. Authorities revealed that the doctor suspected the abrupt decline in her blood pressure as the cause of her untimely death.
