Lyra Valkyria Eyes New Rivalries Ahead of WWE Evolution 2025
Lyra Valkyria's Rise in WWE

Lyra Valkyria made a significant impact upon her debut on the main roster in 2024, following her success in NXT. In her early twenties, she made history by winning the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Championship in WWE. As a beloved figure on the Raw roster, she was always prepared to defend her title until she eventually lost it to fellow countrywoman, Becky Lynch.
Lyra Valkyria's Aspirations for WWE Evolution
During a recent appearance on the Battleground podcast, Valkyria shared her thoughts on potential opponents for the upcoming all-women WWE event, Evolution. She expressed interest in facing two former NXT champions who have also transitioned to the main roster.
Lyra Valkyria's Desired Matchups
Valkyria is eager for new storylines leading up to WWE Evolution 2025. She specifically mentioned Giulia from the SmackDown roster as a desired opponent, noting that they have never competed against each other. Additionally, she highlighted Stephanie Vaquer as another competitor she would like to face.
“We’ve got Giulia on SmackDown now. She’s, uh, I’ve never—never gotten in the ring with her. Stephanie Vaquer, she’s another one that’s been up and down from Raw, NXT… so I—we don’t know if it’s going to happen, I don’t know who will be involved. But someone that I haven’t faced yet would be, um, would be very cool—very fresh for me,”
Valkyria's comments reflect her desire for fresh challenges in the ring.
Achievements and Recent Feuds
On January 13, during the second-ever WWE Raw episode on Netflix, Valkyria triumphed over Dakota Kai in a tournament finale, becoming the inaugural women’s Intercontinental Champion. She later achieved dual championship status at Wrestlemania 41 by winning the women’s tag team titles alongside Becky Lynch, defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
However, the following night, Lynch initiated a new rivalry with Valkyria, culminating in a match at the Money in the Bank 2025 event where Lynch claimed the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, marking her first victory over her former protégé in their three-match series.
