Lara Dutta Returns to India After Dubai Ordeal Amid Israel-Iran Conflict
Lara Dutta's Return to India During Conflict
Bollywood star Lara Dutta found herself among numerous Indian celebrities trapped in Dubai due to the escalating Israel-Iran conflict. She shared a video on social media, voicing her worries about being caught in such a precarious situation. Thankfully, Lara has safely returned to India with her 14-year-old daughter, Saira. In a recent interview, she mentioned that she typically avoids sharing such videos to prevent causing unnecessary alarm. Lara recounted the 'dangerous journey' they undertook to return home, expressing uncertainty about what lay ahead.
Lara Dutta's Experience During the Crisis
In a conversation with a media outlet, Lara disclosed that she and her daughter were alone when the conflict erupted, while her husband, Mahesh Bhupathi, was in London for work commitments. The actress had relocated to Dubai for Saira to train with a prestigious tennis coach. Despite the tense atmosphere, Lara praised the UAE government for their efforts in ensuring the safety of residents.
Discussing their return journey, Lara explained that they opted for a flight from Fujairah, following instructions to remain indoors due to the escalating tensions. "We lived just about 10 kms away from the Jebel Ali Port, which was being bombed every day. So we decided to take a chance, as I wanted to be with my husband and my family. We drove two hours to Fujairah, and just a day earlier, Fujairah port and the oil refinery had been bombed. It was scary. I was joking with my co-star Akshay Kumar that I felt like I was part of Airlift 2," she shared.
She further mentioned that they could hear explosions at the airport and hoped that 'nothing was struck'. Lara also acknowledged the airlines for their efforts, noting that her daughter might experience some trauma from this ordeal.
Gratitude Towards the UAE Government
Earlier, in her initial video, Lara expressed her appreciation for the UAE government, stating that they did everything possible to ensure the safety of individuals during the crisis. For those unaware, Lara has been residing in Dubai for the past three years. Alongside Lara, other Indian celebrities such as Sonal Chauhan, Esha Gupta, Nargis Fakhri, Vishnu Manchu, and Ajith Kumar were also reported to be stranded in Dubai.
