Background on Rohit Chandel's Exit
Rohit Chandel's departure from Sairaab followed his arrest by Pant Nagar Police on July 10, after a minor girl accused him of stalking and physical assault. He was subsequently presented in a special POCSO court, where he was initially held in police custody before being transferred to judicial custody.
The FIR detailed allegations that Chandel had persistently contacted the girl despite her requests to cease communication. It was reported that on July 5, he allegedly confronted the 16-year-old near her home, leading to a verbal dispute that escalated into physical abuse. As a result of these allegations, he has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as well as sections related to stalking and causing bodily harm.
