In response, he has shifted focus back to the film by revealing Kichcha Sudeep’s character, Kaala Bhairava, which has generated positive buzz, especially considering Sudeep's large fanbase and the film's ambitious nature as a period action drama set in the 1970s and 80s.

The inclusion of Sudeep enhances the film's impressive cast, which features prominent actors such as Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, and Reeshma Nanaiah. Set against the backdrop of Bengaluru during the 1970s and 80s, the film draws inspiration from real-life events. Produced by KVN Productions, KD: The Devil stars Dhruva Sarja in the lead role, with significant contributions from Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty. This project also marks a reunion between director Prem and Kichcha Sudeep after several years; their last collaboration was on The Villain, which also included Shivarajkumar.

The controversy surrounding the song intensified as objections were raised against both the Hindi version and the original Kannada track, 'Sarse Sarse.' The Karnataka State Women’s Commission reportedly expressed concerns over the potentially derogatory lyrics, highlighting their possible social implications. KD: The Devil is scheduled for a pan-India release on April 30.
