In the midst of this sorrow, actress Khushboo Sundar shared joyful family moments from her daughter Avantika Sundar’s wedding in Goa, which sparked criticism from many. Bhagyaraj had been present at the wedding alongside numerous prominent figures from the industry. Earlier today, the veteran actress and politician expressed her condolences to Bhagyaraj's family. Shortly after paying tribute to Bhagyaraj, Khushboo posted a picture with her husband, Sundar C, showcasing a sweet moment between them. This led to a flood of negative comments questioning her decision to post during a time of grief. When one user asked why she would share such posts while mourning, Khushboo shot back, asking, "Why follow me then? Only to criticise? My daughter just got married less than 48 hours ago. Who knows Poornima better, you or me?" She further stated that if her posts upset anyone, they could choose to unfollow her, asserting, "I have every right to be happy."

Bhagyaraj’s last public appearance was at Khushboo’s daughter Avantika’s wedding in Goa, where he was joined by notable personalities such as Anil Kapoor, Chiranjeevi, Trisha Krishnan, and Tamannaah Bhatia during the festivities on Thursday.

K Bhagyaraj, the esteemed actor-director, passed away on June 27 due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 73. His death has cast a shadow over the film industry, with an outpouring of tributes and condolences on social media. Colleagues from the Tamil film sector gathered at his home to pay their last respects. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay also visited to comfort Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and express his condolences. Renowned actors like Rajinikanth and Nassar were also present to bid farewell. Bhagyaraj began his career as an assistant to filmmaker Bharathiraja and went on to direct over 25 films and act in more than 75. He is survived by his wife, Poornima Jayaram, and their two children, Saranya Bhagyaraj and actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj.
