Katrina Kaif Stands Strong Amid Weight Gain Criticism

New Delhi: After facing backlash for her weight gain following her first public appearance since welcoming her son, Katrina Kaif remains unfazed. She asserts that she will not allow the "ever-changing winds of opinions" to impact this beautiful chapter of her life.

The actress, known for her role in "Namaste London," attended a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at the Mukesh Ambani residence in September with her husband, Vicky Kaushal, and their one-year-old son, Vihaan. Photos and videos from the event quickly circulated online, drawing attention to Katrina's weight gain.

In an interview with Vogue India, Katrina expressed, "Most people understand the changes a woman's body undergoes after childbirth. If some choose to judge harshly, that's their personal decision. There's ample information available, so I prefer to focus on this wonderful phase of my life and my future."

A Pakistani radio host even issued an apology to the 43-year-old actress, who is often regarded as one of Bollywood's fittest stars.

Katrina remarked, "We live in a society that can easily sway us with fluctuating opinions," addressing the controversy for the first time.

The online discourse, with many users making personal remarks about her post-baby body, echoes the scrutiny faced by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has also been criticized for her appearance after giving birth to her daughter, Aaradhya, now 14.

Support for both actresses has emerged from within the industry, with several celebrities, including Madhuri Dixit, Salman Khan, Mrunal Thakur, and Parineeti Chopra, condemning the unrealistic beauty standards imposed on actors.

In her Vogue interview, Katrina dismissed the notion of needing to return to a pre-pregnancy body, questioning, "Bounce back? From where?"

She added, "I have moved forward to fulfill a deep desire in my heart, so why would I want to revert? The initial days after giving birth were indescribable, seeing Vihaan's face and realizing that four years of my journey with Vicky had led to this moment. I am conscious of my fitness journey and where my body feels most energetic, and I will get there at my own pace."
