Celebrating a Year of 'Chandu Champion'


Mumbai: A year has passed since the debut of Chandu Champion, featuring Kartik Aaryan, and the film is now set to be showcased at the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival.


Director Kabir Khan shared the news on Instagram, stating: “ONE YEAR and the Champion is still running strong… #ChanduChampion is selected for the @shanghaiinternationalff and it’s picked up another 2 awards – BEST FILM & BEST ACTOR – this time in New York.”






 


The film, directed by Kabir Khan, features Kartik Aaryan portraying Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medalist. At the recent New York Indie Film Festival Awards, it secured the titles of Best Film and Best Actor for Kartik.


This biographical sports drama narrates the inspiring journey of a remarkable individual who faces numerous obstacles with steadfast resolve, ultimately achieving historic success.


Kabir Khan began his career in documentary filmmaking before making his feature film debut in 2006 with the thriller Kabul Express. He is renowned for directing films like New York, Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and 83.


Currently, Kartik is filming alongside Ananya Panday for their upcoming project, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which is scheduled for release on February 13, 2026.


Karan Johar recently posted a photo on Instagram showing Kartik and Ananya sharing a kiss behind an Indian passport, captioning it, “Signed, sealed & delivering hamaari Ray ki Rumi! @kartikaaryan @ananyapanday #TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri – in cinemas next Valentine’s: 13th Feb, 2026.”






 


This film marks the second collaboration between Kartik and the director after their 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh. Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri signifies a new venture for KJo and Kartik.


Set to be released during Diwali 2025, the film is expected to feature music prominently. Although no official title has been confirmed, it is rumored that Anurag Basu's upcoming project may be called Tu Meri Zindagi Hai.


Kartik's upcoming projects also include Naagzilla.
