New Delhi: Actor Kartik Aaryan has shown his support for the flood-affected regions of Assam by donating ₹1 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

The Chief Minister's office in Assam took to social media on Thursday to express gratitude for Aaryan's generous donation, which will aid in the relief and rehabilitation efforts for those impacted by the devastating floods.

The flooding in Assam began on July 19 and has caused significant damage across the state.

The official post acknowledged Aaryan's contribution, stating, "Gratitude to actor @TheAaryanKartik for his generous contribution of ₹1 Crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. HCM Dr. @himantabiswa appreciated his commendable gesture and timely support toward state relief measures."

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also shared the post, expressing his appreciation: "Truly heartened by your generous contribution, @TheAaryanKartik. Your support will go a long way in helping the people of Assam #AssamFloods."

Currently, 21 revenue circles and 437 villages across eight districts, including Golaghat, Sivasagar, and Jorhat, are grappling with the aftermath of the floods.

The total number of individuals affected has reached approximately 212,400, with Charaideo being the hardest hit, impacting nearly 80,000 residents, followed by Sivasagar with 71,000 and Jorhat with 40,000.
