Karan Johar Takes on Matchmaking Role for Kartik Aaryan
Karan Johar's New Role as Matchmaker
Mumbai, Dec 18: Karan Johar, the versatile Bollywood figure, has expressed his willingness to play matchmaker for actor Kartik Aaryan.
During the trailer launch of his latest production, ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’, Johar highlighted his successful history of matchmaking, which has often been showcased on his talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’.
Addressing the media present, he stated, “I have facilitated numerous marriages, and I want to emphasize that. While some information reaches me, much remains undisclosed. I consider myself a significant matchmaker, perhaps even better than Seema aunty (Seema Taparia).”
Johar added, “Although I can't reveal all my matchmaking secrets, I am ready to take on the role of Kartik’s Seema starting from the film's release.”
Kartik Aaryan responded positively, saying, “I truly appreciate it.”
At the same event, Johar also expressed his excitement for the upcoming film ‘Ikkis’, which features the late Dharmendra.
He remarked, “I am immensely proud of the success of ‘Dhurandhar’ and extend my congratulations to the entire team. I have heard wonderful things about ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, but I am equally excited about our film, especially with its Christmas release.”
Johar continued, “I am looking forward to watching ‘Ikkis’. This film holds special significance for us, particularly due to our deep respect for Dharamji. His loss has been profound, and viewing this film one last time will be meaningful for all of us as fans. Additionally, it features Agastya, whom I have known for a long time. I believe our films will perform exceptionally well at the box office, benefiting the entire Indian cinema landscape.”
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, ‘Ikkis’ tells the story of Arun Khetarpal, one of India’s youngest recipients of the Param Vir Chakra, who was martyred at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film emphasizes military discipline, decision-making in combat, and personal bravery, while honoring the sacrifices made during war and celebrating a true national hero.
