Known for his strong friendships within the Bollywood community, Karan celebrated his 54th birthday on May 25, 2026, surrounded by friends such as Kajol, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Rani Mukerji, Manish Malhotra, and Farah Khan at his residence in Mumbai. However, he decided to unfollow all of them on Instagram, with the exception of Priyanka Chopra Jonas. In a statement shared via his Instagram story, Karan revealed that this was part of a 'digital detox' initiative.
He stated, “It’s a digital detox. I am unfollowing everyone to reduce my time and energy spent on the gram. This can’t be national news for god's sake. Please clickbait something else. This is irrelevant.” His comments have since gone viral, sparking various reactions across social media platforms.
