Mumbai, Dec 6: Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma recently shared a stage with the acclaimed singer Shreya Ghoshal, where he humorously proclaimed himself the 'winner of Indian Idol.'


During the celebration, Kapil praised Shreya's talent, saying, “Indian Idol has been running for years, but Shreya ji, your presence has brought a new light.”


The atmosphere was electric as the duo performed the enchanting duet of the classic song “Tum Aa Gaye Ho, Noor Aa Gaya Hai” from the 1975 film “Aandhi,” featuring Sanjeev Kumar and Suchitra Sen, directed by Gulzar.


For Kapil, singing alongside Shreya was a dream come true, and he expressed that the experience had truly made his day. He added a humorous twist, claiming that after this performance, he has officially become the 'winner of Indian Idol.'


Regarding the film “Aandhi,” it was rumored to be inspired by the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her estranged husband. However, the character design was actually influenced by Tarkeshwari Sinha and Indira Gandhi.


The plot revolves around a chance encounter between a separated couple years later, where the wife, Aarti Devi, now a prominent politician, finds herself at the hotel owned by her husband during an election campaign.


Currently, Kapil is busy promoting his upcoming film, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, which promises to deliver even more comedic chaos as his character navigates a vibrant, multicultural marriage.


Directed by Anukalp Goswami, the film is produced by Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain, and Abbas-Mustan under Venus Worldwide Entertainment in collaboration with Abbas Mustan Film Production.
