Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut, who has transitioned from acting to politics, has responded fiercely to veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah amid the ongoing discourse regarding the Hindi film industry's reaction to student protests.

In her remarks, Kangana labeled Shah a 'lomdi' and accused him of benefiting from the nation's resources while advocating for a neighboring country.

She shared a news article on her social media that highlighted actor Piyush Mishra's comments about Shah's previous 'dog with a bone' analogy, adding her own strong defense of her stance and questioning Shah's loyalty to India.

Kangana stated, 'The reality is that everyone serves someone, but I take pride in protecting and fighting for the home (country) whose bread I consume. Nasir Saab enjoys the benefits of this nation but advocates for the neighboring one.'

She further remarked, 'In today's world, being called a dog is a compliment, as loyalty and charm are rare; I would prefer to be a dog than a lomdi like Nasiruddin.'

This latest confrontation arises from Shah's earlier comments regarding the silence of many prominent figures in the Hindi film industry concerning the student protests.

Shah had previously expressed that A-list celebrities would speak out when their conscience prompted them, using the analogy of a dog with a bone that cannot bark until it loses its bone.

Piyush Mishra later referenced Shah's analogy while supporting students protesting in Ranchi over issues related to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission, questioning which 'dogs' were silent during the protests.

Kangana has previously stirred controversy with her critiques of the Gen Z-led student movement, particularly regarding videos where some protesters allegedly used offensive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

She also ignited further debate by labeling a segment of the youth as 'Gutter chap.'
