Kamal Haasan Commends Vijay's Swift Action

Following the directive from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK Chief Vijay to shut down 717 liquor outlets in the state, Kamal Haasan has expressed his admiration. The actor, known for his role in Vikram, took to X to commend 'brother' Vijay for his prompt action upon taking office. He emphasized that the Tamil Nadu government should persist in this initiative and close even more TASMAC liquor shops situated near temples, educational institutions, and bus stations. Vijay officially took office as TN CM on May 10, after successfully achieving a majority.

Kamal Haasan Praises Vijay's Initiative

In his post on X, Kamal Haasan pointed out Vijay's quick response to a pressing issue affecting Tamil families. He stated, "While Tamil families hoped for the removal of liquor retail shops near places of worship, schools, and bus stands, Hon'ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Brother Vijay @TVKVijayHQ has acted swiftly upon assuming office." He further stressed that it is the government's duty to manage alcohol sales, asserting, "The sale of liquor should not be a government function. The Tamil Nadu government must aim for this stance. Today, it has started by closing 717 liquor shops, and this number should be increased. This action must continue. Congratulations," remarked Kamal Haasan.

Previously, Kamal Haasan had congratulated Vijay on his appointment as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, expressing hope for the state's progress under his leadership.
