JYP Entertainment Steps Up with Major Donation for Venezuela Earthquake Relief
JYP Entertainment's Humanitarian Efforts Following Venezuela's Earthquake
JYP Entertainment has once again demonstrated its dedication to humanitarian efforts by announcing a substantial donation aimed at aiding relief operations in the aftermath of the recent earthquake in Venezuela. As rescue and recovery missions continue in the affected regions, the K-pop agency is actively participating in global initiatives to deliver emergency assistance to those impacted. This contribution is intended to meet some of the most pressing needs of the disaster-stricken population, further emphasizing JYP's commitment to charitable endeavors. This donation adds to the company's expanding portfolio of humanitarian actions in response to natural calamities and worldwide crises.
JYP Entertainment's Donation for Earthquake Relief in Venezuela
On June 26, JYP Entertainment revealed that it has donated 300 million KRW (around $200,000) to the international relief organization World Vision to support emergency relief efforts for those affected by the earthquake in Venezuela. The earthquake, which struck on June 24, was followed by several aftershocks, resulting in extensive destruction. The funds will be allocated to provide essential supplies such as emergency food, daily necessities, clean water, sanitation services, and psychological support for children and residents affected by the disaster.
Explaining the motivation behind their donation, JYP Entertainment expressed, "We hope this contribution can serve as a small source of strength for the children and residents who have lost their homes due to this unforeseen disaster. We sincerely wish for the affected communities to regain stability swiftly and for everyone to return to their normal lives safely."
The agency emphasized that charitable giving is integral to its values and not merely a one-off initiative. Over the past year, JYP has donated over 1.1 billion KRW to support recovery efforts following wildfires in South and North Gyeongsang provinces, the earthquake in Myanmar, and a significant fire incident in Hong Kong. Their humanitarian contributions also include 500 million KRW for relief following the 2023 Türkiye-Syria earthquake, 300 million KRW for wildfire recovery in 2022, and 500 million KRW to combat the spread of COVID-19 in 2020. In addition to disaster relief, JYP Entertainment continues to run its EDM (Every Dream Matters!) campaign, which provides financial support for medical treatment to children and teenagers, reflecting the company's broader commitment to social responsibility.
