Here’s what you need to know about Johnny Galecki’s latest project.
Johnny Galecki Returns To Acting With Kowalski
After a lengthy hiatus, The Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki is poised to return to the stage with Kowalski, a Chicago production. He will portray the renowned playwright Tennessee Williams in this play, penned by Gregg Ostrin and directed by Colin Hanlon for the Lookingglass Theatre Company. According to reports, performances are set to take place from September 19 to October 25. The narrative is set in 1947 Provincetown and imagines the pivotal first encounter between Williams and Marlon Brando, a meeting that would later inspire the creation of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951).
In discussing his return, Galecki expressed, “The planets aligned. Gregg’s writing, Colin’s vision, and the feeling that after seven years of quietly observing life, I finally had something new to bring back to the work. Add to that the privilege of portraying one of my artistic heroes, and it became impossible to say no.” Playwright Gregg Ostrin remarked, “At its heart, ‘Kowalski’ is about the collision of extraordinary talents and the lasting impact those encounters can have on art and culture.”

Galecki rose to fame with his Emmy-nominated role as Leonard Hofstadter in The Big Bang Theory.
