Jason Sanjay's Directorial Journey Begins

Jason Sanjay, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, is gearing up for his directorial debut with the film Sigma. Featuring Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah, the movie is slated for a theatrical release on July 31, 2026. As part of the promotional activities, Jason has begun sharing insights about his filmmaking aspirations. He expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from his family, including his parents Vijay and Sangeetha, as well as his sister Divya Sasha and friends.

In a conversation with a magazine, Jason reflected on the encouragement he received from his loved ones. He stated, "I consulted with my family and friends, and their positive reactions fueled my enthusiasm. It made me realize the trust they have in my abilities." He also mentioned receiving well-wishes from notable figures like Vijay Sethupathi and Soori when production for Sigma commenced.

Looking ahead, Jason has already conceptualized two to three potential projects that he intends to develop after Sigma hits theaters. He shared that his passion for cinema has been evident since childhood, having visited numerous shooting locations and attended many premieres. "Watching films has always been a significant part of my life, and now we can explore diverse genres from around the globe," he noted.

Jason elaborated on his film-watching habits, explaining that he enjoys analyzing storytelling techniques. He likened discussing films with friends to a game, often narrating plots to those who haven't seen them. "This storytelling aspect was my initial inspiration," he remarked.

Details on Sigma's Release

As for Sigma, it is currently set to premiere on July 31. However, reports suggest a possible delay to August due to the release of Jana Nayagan on July 23.
