Concert Chaos in Dehradun
Incidents of chaos at concerts are becoming alarmingly frequent both in India and internationally. From unexpected interruptions to objects being hurled at performers, many artists have encountered unsettling experiences lately. Recently, Dhurandhar singer Jasmin Sandlas, famed for her tracks like Jaiye Sajna and Shararat, found herself in a similar situation while performing at a university in Dehradun. During her set, she had to pause her performance to ensure the safety of her audience. A startling video captured the moment when several fans collapsed amidst the turmoil of the event. In the video, a visibly concerned Jasmin can be heard saying, "Waheguru, Waheguru, Waheguru. I am so sorry this is happening. I need my internal team to take over. These security guards are very aggressive. I need my internal team to take over right now. We can solve this in 30 seconds." Reports suggest that the security personnel were attempting to control the crowd when fans began to push against one another, leading to the barricades collapsing and several students falling.
Once the situation was stabilized, Jasmin lightheartedly remarked, "I’ve come to Dehradun for the first time, and that too to DIT. I can understand that there’s a lot of excitement. But when I come on stage, please make sure the barricading is stronger." Additional footage from the college festival showcased her performing popular songs from Dhurandar, Dhurandar: The Revenge, and Kick. She also honored the students by singing Jeene Do from 3 Idiots and the beloved Pyaar Ke Pal by KK.
