Jane Seymour's Journey Post-Bond

Los Angeles, Jan 10: Actress Jane Seymour, known for her role as Solitaire in the 1973 film Live and Let Die, shared that her experience as a Bond girl influenced her decision to relocate to the United States. She faced challenges in escaping the typecasting that followed her iconic role.

In an interview with a magazine, she expressed, "The English audience struggled to see beyond my portrayal as a Bond girl. I would often reach the final stages of auditions for significant roles, only to be sidelined when someone mentioned my Bond history."

She continued, "In America, they acknowledged my Bond film but also recognized my other work, which was refreshing," highlighting the difference in perception between the two countries.

After moving, Seymour noted that she predominantly portrayed American characters for her initial year in Hollywood. "It was amusing to play roles from various American locales without them realizing I was British, or if they did, they simply forgot," she remarked.

Despite her age, Seymour expressed her willingness to take on the role of Bond, amidst discussions about a female successor. "While the likelihood of being offered the role is slim, I'm open to it!" she stated.

Previously, she indicated her interest in returning to the franchise, especially after Amazon's acquisition of the Bond series. When asked about potential involvement with Bond content from the streaming service, she replied, "Absolutely... but I doubt they would consider me."

Seymour praised Amazon's new direction for the franchise, stating, "It's fantastic. Amazon is a major player, and I believe they will invest the necessary resources and passion into the Bond legacy."

She also expressed her willingness to make a cameo in a future Bond film, saying, "I would love to just appear briefly, perhaps with someone asking, 'Is that Solitaire?'"
