Jaideep Ahlawat Takes Over Akshaye Khanna's Role in Drishyam 3
Jaideep Ahlawat Joins Drishyam 3
Last year, Akshaye Khanna's decision to exit director Abhishek Pathak's *Drishyam 3* sparked considerable discussion within the film community. Now, actor Jaideep Ahlawat has been cast to fill his shoes in the highly anticipated film featuring Ajay Devgn.
The trailer for *Drishyam 3* was unveiled on Wednesday during a special event in Goa, where Jaideep expressed his feelings about stepping into Akshaye Khanna's role.
**Jaideep Ahlawat's Perspective on the Role Change**
In response to inquiries about taking over Akshaye Khanna's part in *Drishyam 3*, Jaideep Ahlawat stated, "It's not appropriate to compare this role with that one. This character is unique and a fresh addition to the storyline. He is introduced to the plot involving Meera Deshmukh and the Salgaonkar family for the first time. Abhishek has crafted this character with significant depth, paying close attention to his appearance and behavior."
In *Drishyam: The Conclusion*, Jaideep Ahlawat will portray SP Rajveer Singh Tomar, a Crime Branch officer. During the trailer launch, Ajay Devgn explained that Jaideep's character is brought into the narrative because the local police were unable to resolve the Vijay Salgaonkar case, resulting in the Crime Branch taking over the investigation.
Previously, Akshaye Khanna played IPS officer Tarun Ahlawat in *Drishyam 2*, a role that received positive feedback from viewers. Initially, the third installment was designed with him in mind. However, after the success of *Dhurandhar*, he withdrew from his commitment to *Drishyam 3*, leading to Jaideep Ahlawat being cast in a different capacity.
**Excitement Builds for Drishyam 3**
The trailer for *Drishyam 3* showcases a heightened level of suspense and excitement compared to its predecessors, significantly boosting fan anticipation for this Ajay Devgn film. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on October 2, 2026.
