Inside the Life of Barcelona's Young Star Lamine Yamal
A Glimpse into Yamal's Personal Space
Lamine Yamal, the 18-year-old forward from Barcelona, recently opened up about his personal life, giving fans a sneak peek into his simple living arrangements before transitioning to Gerard Pique and Shakira's former £12 million estate. He shared some quirky insights into his lifestyle, including a unique reason for not having a girlfriend.
Currently, Yamal resides in a flat with his friend Sohaib and cousin Mohamed Abde, which reflects his youthful spirit and rising fame. He candidly admitted to his disorganized habits, recalling a time when he left a 'huge mountain of clothes' in one room and confessed that he sometimes forgets the trophies displayed throughout his home.
Despite the chaos, Yamal has a strong preference for scents, insisting that everything in his living space must have a vanilla fragrance, from soaps to air fresheners. 'It’s essential for the house to smell nice,' he stated, emphasizing that vanilla is his signature scent.
One of the most surprising aspects of his routine is his habit of waking up in the middle of the night to indulge in cookies, which he keeps by his bedside. 'I try to sleep early so I can wake up at night to eat cookies. I love it. That’s why I can’t have a girlfriend, because I wake up at night,' he revealed.
This home tour coincided with the debut of his new YouTube channel, which rapidly gained nearly 200,000 subscribers shortly after launch. Dressed in a Colombian jersey featuring Luis Diaz's name, Yamal displayed his collection of action figures, octopus plush toys, gaming consoles like PlayStation and Nintendo, and a DJ set he plans to use for music experimentation.
Among his treasured items are a replica of the Kopa Trophy, a European Championship ring, and a LaLiga player of the month award. However, the most cherished possession is the ball from Spain’s Euro 2024 semi-final victory over France, which he scored with. 'It’s the most precious thing in my house,' he said with pride.
Other notable items include golden Beats headphones, a signed Dr. Dre vinyl record, and a collection of watches. He also keeps a childhood photograph by his bedside along with a large certificate from his school days that reads 'Dr. Lamine Yamal.'
