Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has developed a calm and appreciative outlook towards his work over the years. As he prepares for the release of his upcoming period drama Main Vaapas Aaunga, he emphasizes the importance of enjoying the creative process and being grateful for the opportunities he receives. Throughout his career, Ali has collaborated with numerous prominent actors, leading to both significant successes and some disappointments. Imtiaz Ali Discusses Jab Harry Met Sejal and Future Projects

In a recent interview with Zoom, Imtiaz shared his thoughts on Jab Harry Met Sejal, acknowledging its failure while also noting that he did not feel overwhelmed by the pressures of stardom. He stated, "As the director, I am responsible for my choices. While some projects succeed and others do not, it’s a complex situation. There are lessons to be learned from Jab Harry Met Sejal, but it’s not about placing blame on anyone or anything."

He further elaborated on his approach to working with actors, emphasizing that he views them as artists rather than merely stars with expectations. Reflecting on his experience with Shah Rukh Khan, he remarked, "Every experience is distinct, and I would gladly collaborate with Shah Rukh again. Perhaps our next project will be a hit, and whatever I’ve done will be seen as a successful formula until it doesn’t work in another context. Each project is unique in its own right."

Insights on Main Vaapas Aaunga

Imtiaz's forthcoming romantic film, set to premiere on June 12, is partially based in the era of Partition. The narrative follows the tragic love story of Vedang Raina and Sharvari, while Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah contribute to the contemporary storyline. Notably, composer AR Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil are reuniting with Imtiaz for this project.
