Housefull 5: A New Milestone in Indian Cinema

Housefull 5 is not only making headlines at the box office but is also setting new benchmarks in terms of production scale and budget. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, this film was shot entirely aboard a cruise ship and has an astonishing budget of Rs 375 crore, making it the priciest comedy film in the history of Indian cinema.

The film stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan in leading roles, alongside a talented ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Chunky Pandey, and Johnny Lever. The female leads feature Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma.

Discussions around the cast's remuneration have sparked interest, with Akshay Kumar reportedly earning between Rs 60 to 70 crore, Riteish Deshmukh around Rs 30 to 35 crore, and Abhishek Bachchan receiving Rs 10 crore. Sanjay Dutt's fee is estimated to be between Rs 12 to 15 crore, while Jackie Shroff and Nana Patekar are said to have charged approximately Rs 4 to 5 crore and Rs 3 to 4 crore, respectively.

Among the female cast, Sonam Bajwa is believed to have earned Rs 7 to 8 crore, while Jacqueline Fernandez's fee ranges from Rs 5 to 6 crore. The earnings of Chitrangada Singh, Nargis Fakhri, and Soundarya Sharma have not been disclosed.

The film has faced controversy recently, as dancer and content creator Sandip Brahamin accused the production team of copying his signature 'hat move' in the song Laal Pari without proper acknowledgment. In response, director Tarun Mansukhani stated, “There was no intention to engage in any kind of plagiarism. It’s just one of those things that ended up happening. We’re very sorry if he feels like that. I want to reiterate that there was no intention of causing any harm of any form.”

Despite the controversy, Housefull 5 has performed remarkably well at the box office, nearing Rs 120 crore within just six days of its release.
