Woodley revealed that she was unaware of the removal of her scenes for almost a year after filming concluded. Initially, the plan was for her character to be introduced after the death of Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone, potentially paving the way for her return in a future sequel. However, those plans were scrapped when the studio opted not to proceed with a third installment following the mixed reception of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
