Indian film enthusiasts are in for a treat as they will soon witness the latest creation from renowned Korean director Na Hong-jin. His highly anticipated sci-fi thriller, titled Hope, is set to hit theaters across India on September 25. This release marks a significant comeback for the filmmaker, nearly ten years after his last directorial project.

The film has already made waves, having premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. It features a diverse international cast, including notable Korean actors like Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, and Hoyeon, alongside Hollywood talents such as Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender, Taylor Russell, and Cameron Britton. To cater to a wide audience, the film will be available in five languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Korean.

Hope unfolds in a secluded village where a police chief and his inexperienced deputy must safeguard their community from a mysterious creature. The tension escalates when wildfires sever all communication lines, isolating the villagers. Meanwhile, a local hunting group finds themselves being hunted in the mountains, intensifying the survival theme of the narrative.

In discussing his creative vision, Na Hong-jin shared that he sought to delve into the primal fears associated with the unknown. The storyline transitions from this initial dread to a broader exploration of human instincts and the societal impacts of fear. He emphasized his aim to create an unpredictable and immersive experience while delivering the grandeur expected from a major cinematic release.

Hope is brought to audiences by Plus M Entertainment and produced in collaboration with Forged Films and Westworld. Star Entertainment Pvt Ltd is responsible for its distribution in India. Jiten Hemdev, the Managing Director and CEO of Star Entertainment, expressed excitement about the film's release, highlighting that offering it in five languages aims to reach a wide array of viewers throughout the nation.

Continuing his strong association with the Cannes Film Festival, this film marks Na Hong-jin's fourth consecutive entry at the event, following his previous acclaimed works The Chaser, The Yellow Sea, and the 2016 horror sensation The Wailing. With the release date confirmed, Indian audiences can look forward to experiencing the director's latest cinematic vision on the big screen this month.
