Cannes Film Festival 2026 Jury Unveiled
The Cannes Film Festival has officially announced its jury for the 2026 edition, revealing a star-studded lineup. Initially, only Park Chan-wook was known to be leading the jury, but now the complete roster has been disclosed. Esteemed members include Demi Moore, Chloé Zhao, and Stellan Skarsgård, who will assess the 22 films competing for the prestigious Palme d'Or. Notably, Jacob Elordi, known for his role in Frankenstein, was expected to join but had to withdraw due to an injury. The festival is set to take place from May 12 to 23, 2026.
Cannes Film Festival 2026 Jury Members
The festival shared the jury's details via social media, highlighting the inclusion of American actress Demi Moore, Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga, Belgian director Laura Wandel, Chinese filmmaker Chloé Zhao, Chilean director Diego Céspedes, Ivorian-American actor Isaach De Bankolé, Scottish screenwriter Paul Laverty, and Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård, alongside Park Chan-wook.
These jury members have significant connections to Cannes. Moore's film The Substance won the best screenplay award in 2024, while Skarsgård and the cast of Sentimental Value showcased their Oscar-nominated film last year. Wandel's Adam’s Sake was featured at the Critics Week, and Laverty's works The Wind that Shakes the Barley and I, Daniel Blake both received the Palme d’Or. Additionally, Céspedes earned the Un Certain Regard prize last year for his debut film The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo.
Last year's jury president was Juliette Binoche, and the main award went to Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident. This year, films from directors like James Gray, Asghar Farhadi, Pedro Almodóvar, and others are in the running for the coveted Palme d’Or.
Jacob Elordi's Withdrawal from the Jury
Initially, Euphoria star Jacob Elordi was set to be part of the Cannes jury. However, he had to step down due to an injury, as reported by Page Six. The jury's schedule is quite rigorous, involving not just film screenings but also attending premieres, press events, and various activities along the Croisette.
Elordi, who is currently starring in the third season of HBO's Euphoria, is also set to appear in the upcoming film Dog Stars. Recently, he has been spotted with Kendall Jenner at various high-profile events in California, including the Coachella Music Festival.
