Brad Pitt is set to reprise one of his most beloved roles as Cliff Booth, the laid-back stuntman from Quentin Tarantino’s acclaimed film, Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. Nearly ten years after winning an Academy Award for this character, Pitt is back in action for a new project titled The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. Netflix has just released the first trailer for this exciting film, confirming the return of this fan-favorite character.
This upcoming film signifies a notable reunion of creative talents, with David Fincher directing. This collaboration marks another chapter in the partnership between Pitt and Fincher, who have previously teamed up on iconic films like Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. While Fincher takes the director's chair, the screenplay is crafted by Quentin Tarantino, who continues to delve into the universe he created in his 2019 blockbuster.
A New Chapter in 1977 Hollywood
The story unfolds in 1977, eight years after the original film's events. The trailer showcases Cliff Booth navigating a transforming industry, juggling various odd jobs alongside his role as a studio fixer. Viewers get a glimpse of his life, including a scene where he works at a bar and reflects on his past decisions. Additionally, the trailer humorously references Rick Dalton, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in the previous film, highlighting his physical transformation and his choice to forgo a stunt double.
The narrative revolves around Cliff's interactions with a fresh set of industry personalities. As per the official synopsis, the plot kicks off when Cliff receives a call from talent agent Karen Crosby, played by Elizabeth Debicki. She represents Charlie Peters, a television star known for performing his own stunts, portrayed by Scott Caan. As Cliff becomes involved with Peters' circle, he meets various characters, including Peters' wife, Toni, played by Carla Gugino, and former football player turned actor Roderick “Hot Rod” Harrison, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The cast also includes Peter Weller.
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth is set for a two-week exclusive theatrical release in IMAX, starting November 25. After its theatrical run, the film will be available for streaming on Netflix beginning December 23.
