Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' Dream Mansion Faces Financial Turmoil: What's Happening?
Financial Struggles for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
Hollywood's beloved couple, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, are reportedly encountering significant financial hurdles concerning their lavish mansion project in Upstate New York. Recent legal documents reveal that five contractors and subcontractors are claiming the couple owes them over $2.1 million for construction work on their expansive estate located in Lewisboro. This luxurious property, which spans nearly 110 acres, was envisioned as a dream retreat, complete with a grand main house, eco-friendly features, and private entertainment spaces. However, it appears that construction has ground to a halt, with unresolved payments and legal disputes reigniting controversy surrounding this highly publicized venture.
Construction Stalled on Their Upscale Property
Since acquiring the land in 2018, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been passionately developing their upscale estate, situated approximately 50 miles north of Manhattan. The property was designed to include a 14,500-square-foot main residence, a pool house, a gym, and advanced eco-friendly heating systems. Unfortunately, reports indicate that construction has now come to a standstill.
According to documents cited by a media outlet, the total amount owed stands at $2,108,856.63. The largest claim comes from Flower Construction, a luxury building firm, which asserts it is owed $1,356,157.54 for substantial work completed on the estate. Their responsibilities included structural work, plumbing, electrical wiring, drywall installation, brickwork, and heating and cooling systems.
In addition to Flower Construction, four other subcontractors have filed claims related to specialized tasks on the property, including excavation for an environmentally friendly geothermal heating system and extensive drainage infrastructure. Reports suggest that construction delays began in late 2025, ultimately halting completely earlier this year, coinciding with Blake's widely reported legal issues concerning It Ends With Us.
Legal Dispute with Co-Star Justin Baldoni
Blake Lively accused her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, of inappropriate behavior and initiating a retaliatory smear campaign against her. This legal dispute quickly became a hot topic in Hollywood, dominating headlines for months. While several counterclaims reportedly did not reach the court, many of Lively's allegations also did not proceed to trial.
After resolving the case, Lively made a notable return to public life, appearing at the Met Gala earlier this month. Despite her return to the spotlight, reports indicate that the couple's luxury estate project remains mired in financial uncertainty as disputes with contractors continue to escalate.
