Ben and Casey Affleck have publicly announced the death of their father, Timothy 'Tim' Byers Affleck. This tragic news comes shortly after the loss of their mother, Christopher Anne 'Chris' Affleck, who passed away earlier this year. The brothers shared their grief while attending the 83rd Venice Film Festival, where they were present for the debut of Casey's latest film project.

During a press conference for the film titled Company, which Casey wrote, directed, and starred in, he dedicated the film to his late parents. He expressed sorrow that they were not able to witness the completed project, believing they would have appreciated it.

Honoring Family and Legacy

The death of Timothy Affleck follows the earlier passing of Chris Affleck, who died in June at the age of 83 after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Although the exact date of Timothy's death has not been revealed, the brothers have previously shared insights into his life and struggles with addiction. Born in 1950, Timothy pursued a career in acting and playwriting before facing challenges with alcoholism. After achieving sobriety in 1990, he moved to California and dedicated his life to helping others as a counselor in an alcohol rehabilitation center.

Ben Affleck has reflected on his father's journey, noting in a 2020 interview that part of growing up is realizing that parents are flawed individuals doing their best. Despite their separation and divorce during their sons' childhood, both Timothy and Chris remained influential in the lives of the Oscar-winning actors.
