Himanshu Jangra Speaks Out Amid Controversy
Himanshu Jangra, the Gurgaon resident at the center of the Rs 370 biryani controversy, has finally shared his thoughts following the backlash from his comments during a comedian's show. The incident, which sparked outrage on social media, resulted in him losing his job. Recently, the Maharashtra Cyber Police initiated an FIR against him and others involved. In his remarks, Himanshu acknowledged that he had improvised parts of his story during the show and recognized that some of his comments were inappropriate. He expressed that it was never his intention to offend anyone and conveyed his regret over the situation.
Himanshu Jangra's Response to Online Backlash
In a video call with his former employer, Himanshu revealed that he had been subjected to intense trolling on Instagram for the last two weeks, while his family and friends in his hometown were largely unaware of the unfolding drama. He mentioned that his uncle eventually found out about the controversy and advised him to keep it quiet, hoping it would fade away. However, the situation escalated when neighbors informed his parents, leading to increased tension at home, especially after he was dismissed from his job. Himanshu expressed regret for participating in the show and felt deeply sorry for the distress it caused his family.
He also confessed that the story he recounted on the show was not entirely factual. Jangra stated, "The story I shared about the girl... yes, I did date a girl, but what I said there wasn't completely true. I improvised that story because the previous guests had shared similar types of stories."
He apologized for his inappropriate language and clarified that he had no malicious intent behind his words.
Pranit More's Apology
Shortly after, Pranit More also issued an apology. The stand-up comedian admitted that he deserved the backlash for not intervening when Himanshu made derogatory comments during the show. He acknowledged that while engaging with the audience, several inappropriate remarks were made, and he got swept up in the moment. Pranit recognized it as a significant error, stating he could have stopped Himanshu and taken a stand but failed to do so.
