The launch in India follows HBO Max's recent expansion into parts of Europe, including the UK and Ireland. However, there remains some uncertainty regarding the platform's long-term strategy, with Paramount CEO David Ellison previously suggesting a potential merger between Paramount+ and HBO Max in the future. In India, HBO Max will be offered as an add-on subscription on JioHotstar, starting at Rs 49 per month, providing access to the platform's international content library.
