Govinda's Exciting Comeback
Govinda is gearing up for his return to Bollywood after a hiatus. The actor, who was last seen in the 2019 film Rangeela Raj, has announced a new project titled Roopa. On July 13, he officially revealed details about this comeback during an event where he also introduced Rani Swarnkar, the actress making her debut alongside him. Notably, Govinda is not just acting in the film but is also taking on the role of producer. During the launch, he reflected on the challenging times he faced in his acting career.
Govinda Reflects on His Journey
Recalling the struggles of his career, Govinda shared that he had often been 'written off' and that many believed he would not return to the silver screen. He expressed, "I start again. And I pray to God that what I have thought and what people cannot think, this film works its magic. This film is especially for youngsters."
After discussing his upcoming film, the beloved actor, affectionately known as Chi Chi, spoke about the significance of the number 14 in his life. He revealed that he considers it his lucky number and has faith in numerology. "I believed in it at a very young age. I was 14 years old. I was blessed by God. I signed 14 films in a week. Then I saw super-stardom for 14 years. Then I became a member of parliament in the 14th Lok Sabha. I struggled for 14 years. And then I came back to films," he recounted. This time, however, he couldn't wait more than five years to make his comeback.
Govinda's Recent Appearances
On the professional front, Govinda had taken a seven-year break from films. Recently, he made an appearance on the Netflix reality show Lock Upp 2, hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, alongside his daughter Tina Ahuja. He participated in the show to support his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who has since been evicted.
