Gigi Hadid Breaks Silence on Epstein Files: What She Revealed About Her Modeling Journey
Gigi Hadid Addresses Epstein Files Controversy
In Los Angeles, supermodel Gigi Hadid has finally addressed her and her sister Bella Hadid's names appearing in the controversial Epstein files. An email exchange from 2015, involving Jeffrey Epstein and an unidentified person, was made public by the U.S. Department of Justice and has drawn significant attention.
In this email, the anonymous sender inquired about how Gigi, 30, and Bella, 29, achieved their modeling success and wealth. Epstein's response hinted at their father's financial influence, to which he later clarified that their success was due to their ability to follow directions.
After the email surfaced, a social media user expressed their disappointment on Gigi's Instagram, stating they had to unfollow her due to her silence regarding the Epstein mention. This incident comes amidst numerous allegations against Epstein for sexual abuse from 2008 to 2019.
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking minors and conspiracy to engage in such activities. He died by suicide in his jail cell shortly after, while awaiting trial.
In a now-deleted response to the Instagram comment, Gigi shared her reasons for not commenting sooner. She described it as distressing to see someone she never met speak about her in such a context. Gigi emphasized that she did not want to detract from the real victims' stories.
She expressed her discomfort at being named in the files, stating she was around 20 or 21 when the email was written and firmly denied any connection to Epstein. Gigi acknowledged her privileged upbringing but highlighted that her parents instilled in her the importance of hard work.
Since signing with a modeling agency in 2012, she has dedicated herself to her career, working diligently for every opportunity.
