Mumbai: The popular streaming platform JioHotstar has officially announced that the highly anticipated second season of Inspector Avinash, starring Randeep Hooda, is set to premiere on May 15.

This gripping crime thriller, which debuted its first season in 2023, is helmed by Neerraj Pathak, known for his work on the film Bhaiaji Superhit featuring Sunny Deol.

Taking place in the tumultuous backdrop of 1990s Uttar Pradesh, the upcoming season promises to elevate the stakes as Inspector Avinash Mishra navigates a storm that intertwines personal and political challenges.

According to the official synopsis, "With his son entangled in a murder investigation and his marriage hanging by a thread, Avinash is thrust into a conflict that transcends his role as a law enforcer."

Hooda, who returns to portray the titular character, expressed that this new chapter resonates with him on a personal level.

"This season delves into Avinash's essence. He’s not merely combating crime; he’s fighting for his family, his truth, and his very existence. The scale is grander, the action is more visceral, and the emotions are profoundly intense. It’s a much more exhilarating journey," the actor remarked.

Pathak emphasized that the production team has not only amplified the action sequences but also heightened the emotional depth.

"Season two takes everything that resonated in the first season and propels it into a more volatile environment. Avinash is now contending not just with criminals but also with a disintegrating system around him," the director stated.

The series also stars Urvashi Rautela, Amit Sial, Abhimanyu Singh, Rajneish Duggal, Shalin Bhanot, and Freddy Daruwala in significant roles.
